American MGB Association Meet 2018 in conjunction with Brits at the Village in Lahaska, Pennsylvania
story and photos by the Philadelphia MG Club and Kristi Liebel

On October 13, 2018 the Philadelphia MG Club hosted its 22nd annual Brits at the Village Car Show in Lahaska, PA along with American MGB Association Meet 2018. As with many car shows this season the threat of rain became a reality and lasted longer than expected. Though many say that it was good "English weather", never the less it does put a damper on the show and curtail the number of cars that come out to play.

Despite the rain though many of our participants arrived with smiles and towels - well some of our cars do leak when it is raining. The day started out slow, with raining still coming down at the time the show field opened, mostly staff and a few brave souls arrived. The rain was supposed to have stopped by this time but you know weather forecasts and it was almost one and an half hours later, around 10:30 that the rainy, gloominess finally ended. That is when cars started to show up and by about 11:30 most of the participants that were coming had arrived.

This year our Featured Marque was the MG T. We were happy to see many of these fantastic cars arrive despite the weather. An MG TB, driven by Michael Bartell, even brought along an extra engine. This engine had its own stand and could even be turned it on which created a buzz with participants and spectators alike. One interesting side note is that most of the MG Ts were British Racing Green. These place were placed right out front along Route 263 for everyone to enjoy.

The day continued fairly uneventful. We had a fabulous 50/50 drawing and auction that were going on throughout the day. About 50 cars arrived throughout the day and even though it was a little light on attendance, it was a very fun day. We had two new British cars arrive. They told me it was their second car show, one was a Bentley and the other was an Aston Martin, both of which were really nice to see.

The day ended around 2 p.m. with the awards. Everyone who attended had a fantastic time despite the weather. Thanks to everyone who braved the English weather to enjoy the day with us.
