A wrecked MGB
« on: March 08, 2008, 12:39:42 PM »
A sad story of a friend in deteriorating health. His wife was recently driving his 77 MGB in the rain, hit a curb and spun out.
There is some front fender crumpling, and the front bumper is sheared off.
More ominous is the fact that the right front wheel is jammed against the rear of the fender well, and the front motor mount is sheared off, displaced about an inch and a half to the rear. All of the suspension, steering gear and sway bar components are intact with no sign of bending or recent movement.  The front of the wishbone swivel and the nut are flattened with signs of significant impact.
I'm afraid the frame is buckled and that this is now a parts car.
It's located in Berkeley, CA.  It was a daily driver with some deferred maintenence items.
Anyone interested?
