Chicago British Car Show

by Bruce Magers

Sunday September 7th, 2008 was the 22nd Annual British Car Festival sponsored by the British Car Union, a consortium of several car clubs representing specific makes located in the Chicago area. The show was once again held on the campus of Moraine Valley College in Palos Hills, IL.

This is one of the biggest British Car shows in the United States attracting some 500+ cars with virtually every model produced. In addition to the vast array of vehicles on the field for viewing, a series of informative detailed discussions on the differences between models in a specific marque were presented by experts on a given vehicle.

The AMGBA was well represented with your officers staffing our “satellite headquarters tent” signing up new members and helping present members with questions and regalia purchases.

If you are in the Chicago area this is a “don’t miss” show. The 2009 event will be held on September 13th. The location will be moved back to Oakton Community College in Des Plaines, IL. Mark your calendars now!
